Antique Dining Chairs
Antique dining chairs come in such a bewildering variety of sizes, styles, shapes and timbers from such a huge range of periods that we have decided to categorise them according to size of set. Please accept our apologies if this makes the pages harder to navigate and do please check all the pages or contact us to see if we have anything in stock that is not on the site. In addition to this, if you fall in love with a set of chairs that is not big enough we can make more that look the same. Our copies are the best you can get - not cheap, but they are the best! In general it is no longer considered necessary to match precisely the period of chair to the table or other items in the room. However, this is something that we are very well placed to help you achieve as we have a huge number of antique dining chairs in stock at any one time and can source chairs to match a specific table or interior scheme. As can be seen from these pages the chairs fall into many catagories, so to generalise it can be said that Georgian and Regency mahogany dining chairs are the most expensive whereas Victorian oak dining chairs are the most affordable. However, as with anything else the value is dictated by supply and demand, so in the same way that a long set of antique dining chairs is rarer than a small set, so an especially beautiful or otherwise important set of chairs is accordingly worth more than a boring set.
