Knowle antique sofa
Lovely large Knowle sofa with good strong frame and brass casters.
The Knowle sofa is one of the earliest designs of sofas that were actually comfortable. It has high sides to trap heat from the fire and the sides lower down on pieces of rope in order to vary the angle of the arms. A lowered arm allows you to see through the gap, allows ventilation and makes it more comfortable if sitting with feet on the sofa. Upholster restrained but chic for modern design space, or accessorise with sumptuous fabrics, scatter cushions, rope stays and tassles for the medieval look.
English circa 1900 £3,200
Price includes full reupholstery or take it as seen if you prefer.
